He has been practicing law in the areas of business and commercial law and trials, construction law and trials, appeals, corporate law, and real estate and land development law in Orlando, Florida since 1973, having been admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the State of Florida in 1971.
Mr. Russell is board certified by The Florida Bar as a Business Litigation Lawyer, which includes construction and lien litigation. He has been rated "AV" by Martindale-Hubbell* since 1985. He also is in Martindale-Hubbell's Bar Register of Preeminent Lawyers, under the categories of Business Law, Civil Trial Practice, Commercial Litigation, Construction Law, and Real Estate Law.
Mr. Russell has been named a Florida Super Lawyer for the years 2006 through 2010 in the fields of Business Litigation, Construction Litigation, and Real Estate. Mr. Russell graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1969, and served in the United States Air Force (1969-1973) as a lawyer, holding the rank of Captain. He also is admitted to practice law in the states of Delaware and Virginia.
From 1973 to 1983, Mr. Russell was an associate and a stockholder in the Orlando law firm of van den Berg, Gay & Burke, P.A. (presently the Orlando office of Foley & Lardner). In 1984, he co-founded the Orlando law firm of Jontz, Russell & Hull, P.A., later named Russell & Hull, P.A., and was a stockholder in it until 1996. Since then, he has been the stockholder in the Orlando law firm of Russell Law Offices, P.A.
